Veteran poducer Matthew Puffett aka Future Beat Alliance, is hardly a newcomer to the scene, having notched several 12" releases throughout the course of a decade on labels such as Versatile, Ferox , Archive, Delsin, Void, Emoticon and Suicide Recordings.
As Future Beat Alliance he also recorded a long player, the now-classic ‘Disconnected’ LP released in 2001 through Holland’s cult Delsin imprint. Matthew has also made his name remixing for names such as Ian O’Brien, Chateau Flight and also a rework of the Balaeric classic ‘Soul Magic’ by YBU.
Future Beat Alliance's music is warm and melodic - with roots firmly implanted in Detroit Techno Soul. His debut release for Spacetalk contains some of his finest work to date, with retro synths and hints of Vangelis style soundscapes weaving through the multiple musical layers and dusty vocal samples. 'Breathe In Your Fear' is a cool acidic Detroit techno groove that has met with broad appeal amongst the select DJs that have had the privilege to hear this deep gem. 'Reverse The Negative' conjures up late nights at the Loft with its haunting violin melody and seductive female sci-fi dialogue. The EP is rounded off by the majestic 'Contact Yourself' which draws from Balearic, cosmic and electronica to create a melodic slo-mo groove for those after hours sessions.
